LinuxFile System

A new virtual file system called 'PantryFS' was implemented and added to the Linux Kernel.

The file system has the following features:

• Each block is 4096 bytes.
• The pantryfs inode stores metadata about a file or a directory.
• Each pantryfs inode is associated with a single data block and each data block stores file or directory contents.
• The file system supports operations like: listing the contents of directory, accessing subdirectories, reading contents of regular files, writing on files, overwriting existing files, creating new files and deleting files

The project was undertaken as a part of the course 'Operating Systems' offered at Columbia University. The project was implemented in C language and was done in a team of 2 members comprising of Jay Karp and Umang Raj.
